DAWN Canada's mission is to end the poverty, isolation, discrimination and violence experienced by Canadian women with disabilities and deaf women. For 35 years, DAWN has worked for the advancement and inclusion of women and girls with disabilities and deaf women and girls to address these issues and advocate for change at a systemic level.
When DAWN Canada proposed setting up a social enterprise, it called on the expertise of Coop Interface. The project would establish a consortium of experts from rights defense organizations and policy-making bodies that would provide a range of services to the federal public service, labor unions and industries under federal jurisdiction and federal human rights law.
Coop Interface worked with the DAWN team on the development of this consortium: confirmation of partners; conduct market research to assess needs and potential reach, target customers, revenue potential and risk assessment, and inventory valuation; and developing a business plan that outlines the concept and structure, work and resource flow, human resource requirements, and marketing strategy.
Coop Interface was a key partner in the pre-launch planning of our human rights training cooperative. Eric Steedman had the experience, vision and resources necessary to guide us through the process, and we look forward to working with him again in the future.
